PRESERVE at the Projects to Policy Seminar 2025

PRESERVE attended this year’s Projects to Policy Seminar on 4–5 June in Brussels.

The annual event was co-organised by the EC’s Innovation & Security Research Unit (DG HOME) and the Secure Society Unit of the European Research Executive Agency (REA), as part of the activities of the Community for European Research and Innovation for Security (CERIS).

The seminar facilitated dialogue among key EU security research projects, European Commission policy and project officers, as well as representatives from EU Justice and Home Affairs Agencies. The organisers encouraged participants to engage in discussions on the latest research results and innovative solutions supporting evidence-based security policies and their effective implementation on the ground.

Breakout sessions on specific thematic areas brought participants together to foster networking across research projects and policy areas. On the first day, PRESERVE participated in a breakout session on Fighting Crime & Terrorism, including Resilient Infrastructure. On the second day, PRESERVE took part in the breakout session on Emergency Response and Crisis Management.

Representatives from EU Justice and Home Affairs Agencies presented their innovation laboratories and research activities. They all emphasised that their agencies can offer valuable support to EU-funded security research initiatives. The CERIS Projects to Policy Seminar also provided guidance on how to ensure effective dissemination and exploitation of project results.

It was a dense two-day event with plenty of insightful discussions! PRESERVE was represented by its coordinator, Ángela Freiría López from Gradiant, and Susanne Siebald (DCE Team) from Global Forum Shaping the Future.

Thank you for two great days of inspiring and engaging discussions! 🤝
