CERIS Workshop: Research and Innovation against Illicit Drugs: From Foresight to Operational Impact
5. May - 6. May

The upcoming CERIS workshop: “Research and Innovation against Illicit Drugs: From Foresight to Operational Impact”, which will take place on 5-6 May 2026 in Brussels.
The workshop will bring together policymakers, practitioners, researchers and EU agencies to explore how EU-funded research and innovation can support a more effective and integrated response to drugs-related threats.
While the focus is on illicit drugs, the discussions will cover a wide range of relevant areas, including organised crime, financial investigations, forensics, border and customs aspects, as well as societal dimensions. As such, participation is highly relevant also for projects not directly focused on drugs.
Participating in the workshop offers an opportunity to:
- engage with a broad community of policymakers, practitioners and fellow projects;
- present and position your project results in a policy-relevant context;
- contribute to ongoing EU-level reflections, including under the EU Action Plan on Drugs;
- identify synergies and future collaboration opportunities.
The workshop is organised in the framework of CERIS (Community for European Research and Innovation for Security), which aims to support exchanges between projects and facilitate the uptake of research results.
Participation can be considered as part of project dissemination activities. Up to 2-3 participants per project may declare participation under the dissemination activities of your project. Please disseminate this invitation to all the partners in your FCT project.
