SUMMARY:CERIS Workshop: Research and Innovation against Illicit Drugs: From Foresight to Operational Impact
DESCRIPTION:The upcoming CERIS workshop: “Research and Innovation against Illicit Drugs: From Foresight to Operational Impact”\, which will take place on 5-6 May 2026 in Brussels. \nThe workshop will bring together policymakers\, practitioners\, researchers and EU agencies to explore how EU-funded research and innovation can support a more effective and integrated response to drugs-related threats. \nWhile the focus is on illicit drugs\, the discussions will cover a wide range of relevant areas\, including organised crime\, financial investigations\, forensics\, border and customs aspects\, as well as societal dimensions. As such\, participation is highly relevant also for projects not directly focused on drugs. \nParticipating in the workshop offers an opportunity to: \n\nengage with a broad community of policymakers\, practitioners and fellow projects;\npresent and position your project results in a policy-relevant context;\ncontribute to ongoing EU-level reflections\, including under the EU Action Plan on Drugs;\nidentify synergies and future collaboration opportunities.\n\nThe workshop is organised in the framework of CERIS (Community for European Research and Innovation for Security)\, which aims to support exchanges between projects and facilitate the uptake of research results. \nParticipation can be considered as part of project dissemination activities. Up to 2-3 participants per project may declare participation under the dissemination activities of your project. Please disseminate this invitation to all the partners in your FCT project. \nRegistration is open here: https://eu.eventscloud.com/website/19328/

SUMMARY:NOTIONES Final Conference - Achievements in Law Enforcement Agency and Innovator Cooperation
DESCRIPTION:The NOTIONES project’s objective has been to build a network of practitioners from security and intelligence services of EU Member States and associated countries. The network supports the needs of security and intelligence services and equips them to participate in research and/or innovation actions. The project has brought together practitioners from military\, civil\, financial\, judiciary\, local\, national and international police authorities. As the project approaches its completion\, the fifth and final NOTIONES conference draws together innovative research\, case studies\, and technical demonstrations. The event shares best practices in making security and intelligence practitioners work together with academia and industry. Rapid technological change and advances in the applying technologies to the everyday work of security practitioners are broken down into shareable knowledge for the benefit of maintaining secure\, adaptive\, and resilient societies. The conference offers research and practitioner knowledge from the NOTIONES network\, other EU projects in the field\, and invites participants to share recent findings and new insights.
